Responsibilities
- Deliver industry-standard integration and messaging solutions that conform to effective design, interoperability and business principles.
- Manage the full lifecycle of a database system — from installation and configuration to performance tuning, security, and recovery, ensuring data integrity, uptime, and efficient access across all environments within SWSLHD.
- Evaluate technologies and solutions, provide recommendations, and support the Integration and Applications team, undertaking other relevant technical and database‑related tasks as required.
- Contribute to the strategy of transforming patient, consumer, staff and community experience. Qualifications & Experience
- Proven extensive experience with integration platforms, standards such as HL7 v2.x and FHIR, and knowledge of integration patterns.
- Experience ensuring data security, availability, and high performance across database installations, security, performance tuning, backups, monitoring, and collaboration.
- Demonstrated experience in software development processes, testing, documentation of test plans, change control management, and version control.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including troubleshooting technical issues.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in MS‑SQL Server using SSMS, stored procedures, complex queries, SSIS package development in Visual Studio 2019 or higher, and linking MS‑SQL Server with other databases such as Oracle or Sybase. Selection Criteria
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent, with demonstrated experience in software development and integration technologies in a healthcare or complex service industry environment.
- Experience managing databases across a complex organisation and strategy for monitoring and alerting across many instances.
- Experience with software development processes, testing, documentation of test plans, change control and version control.
- High‑level interpersonal, negotiation, written and verbal communication skills, and proven ability to maintain collaborative working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
