Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated HSE Advisor to join our HSEQ team on a 12‑month contract. This role supports Prysmian’s health, safety, environment, and quality responsibilities, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation and promoting a solid safety culture across our operations. The HSE Advisor will work closely with site teams, frontline operators, and leadership to implement safety initiatives, monitor performance, and support learning and development activities. This is a hands‑on role focused on continuous improvement and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of HSE procedures and tools in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Coach and mentor HSE Committee members, team leaders, and site managers to build HSE capability.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies to manage and close out improvement notices and share learnings across sites.
- Deliver HSE training programmes to support system implementation and risk reduction.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and internal audits to identify and address safety issues.
- Assist in maintaining the ANZ HSE Management System aligned with AS4801, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Facilitate Site Safety Committee meetings and ensure timely resolution of employee concerns.
- Support the Return to Work (RTW) Coordinator in rehabilitation and injury management activities.
- Coordinate on‑site physiotherapy programmes and feedback loops.
- Ensure personal and team compliance with WHS obligations and PPE requirements.
- Report and record all incidents and hazards in accordance with company procedures.
- Participate in WHS training and consult with managers on safety‑related matters.
- Monitor HSE training and initiative spending to meet budget targets.
- Identify and implement cost‑effective safety improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety engagement and enablement through training and team initiatives.
- Support leadership in identifying skill gaps and coordinating development activities.
- Conduct safety training needs analysis and develop tailored programmes.
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts to deliver effective training.
- Ensure training programmes reflect internal policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Requirements Skills & Competencies
- Strong operational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to manage processes, influence stakeholders and drive change.
- Excellent administrative and organisational capabilities. Experience
- Minimum 4 years in a similar HSE role, ideally within high‑risk industries or FMCG manufacturing.
- Proven track record of improving safety culture and compliance. Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
- Additional training in Continuous Improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) and Project Management is advantageous. Why Join Us?
