Lead a High-Performance Heavy Vehicle & Logistics Operation EWS Group is a rapidly expanding transport and recycling organisation operating across Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast. We specialise in bulk haulage, quarry supply logistics, hook lift operations, concrete recycling and major infrastructure and construction projects. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced, professional and commercially minded Senior Transport Manager to oversee and lead the day-to-day operations of our transport and logistics division. This is a senior leadership position suited to an individual with extensive experience in heavy vehicle transport, supply chain management, customer relationship management, operational leadership and compliance oversight within fast-paced environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving operational performance, managing customer relationships, overseeing compliance obligations, preparing forecasts and budgets, assisting with tender submissions and ensuring the transport division operates efficiently, safely and profitably on a daily basis. About the Role As the Senior Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the transport and logistics operation, including truck and dog combinations, hook truck operations, supply chain coordination, operational planning and customer service delivery. You will work closely with drivers, suppliers, customers, concrete plants, quarries and project managers to ensure smooth and efficient operations across multiple sites and projects. This role requires a highly organised and commercially aware leader with exceptional communication and management skills who thrives in a high-pressure environment and can confidently manage multiple operational and administrative responsibilities simultaneously. The successful candidate must possess strong analytical and reporting capabilities and be confident in preparing operational forecasts, running budgets, preparing tenders and delivering professional reports and presentations to management and clients where required. A strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (COR) legislation is essential, together with the willingness and capability to oversee and manage the company’s compliance obligations as part of the role. Key Responsibilities Oversee and manage the daily transport and logistics operations Manage heavy vehicle operations including truck and dog fleets and hook truck divisions Coordinate and oversee supply chain logistics and operational workflow Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain daily communication with clients Manage driver performance, operational standards and workplace expectations Ensure full Chain of Responsibility (COR) and NHVR compliance across operations Oversee transport compliance systems, policies and procedures Prepare tenders, pricing submissions and operational proposals for projects Run operational budgets and assist with financial forecasting and planning Prepare operational reports, presentations and business documentation Forecast fleet requirements, workloads and operational demands Develop and implement systems to improve operational efficiencies and minimise downtime Work closely with senior management on growth strategies and operational planning Oversee reporting, administration and transport documentation Support recruitment, onboarding and team development Maintain a safe, professional and high-performing operational environment What We’re Looking For Essential Experience & Skills Proven experience in a Senior Transport Manager or Logistics Management role Strong knowledge of supply chain management and transport logistics Extensive experience within truck and dog and hook truck operations Strong understanding of Chain of Responsibility (COR) legislation and heavy vehicle compliance requirements Willingness to oversee and manage the company’s compliance obligations as part of the role Experience maintaining NHVR compliance standards and implementing compliant operational systems Excellent customer relationship management and communication skills Ability to operate effectively within a high-pressure and quick-paced environment Strong leadership and people management capabilities Experience within construction, quarry, bulk haulage or recycling industries Experience preparing tenders, pricing submissions and operational forecasts Experience running operational budgets and cost management processes High-level organisational, analytical and problem-solving abilities Strong commercial awareness and decision-making capabilities Professional presentation and leadership approach Advanced computer and administration skills High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint Ability to prepare professional reports, presentations and operational documentation Highly Regarded Experience managing large-scale transport operations Existing industry relationships and networks Experience implementing operational systems and process improvements Understanding of fleet maintenance scheduling and operational planning What We Offer Excellent salary package based on experience Senior leadership role within a rapidly expanding organisation Long-term career growth opportunities Dynamic and supportive team environment Opportunity to work across major transport and infrastructure projects A business that values leadership, initiative and operational excellence Location Sydney-based role with operations across: Glenfield Hurstville Greater Sydney Metropolitan Area Apply Now If you are an experienced transport professional seeking a senior leadership opportunity within a growing organisation, we would like to hear from you.
