Baker (Mortdale)

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Early Morning Baker to join our team. This role is responsible for preparing and baking fresh products so that our bakery is fully stocked with high-quality goods ready for the morning service. Approx 4 Days a week casual employment. Prospect to become FULL TIME for the right worker. The ideal candidate is organised, detail-oriented, and passionate about producing consistent, high-quality baked goods while working independently in a night-shift environment. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake breads, pastries, and other baked goods according to established recipes and production schedules
- Mix, shape, proof, and bake products to ensure consistent quality and presentation
- Prepare doughs and batters for the following day’s service
- Monitor ovens, proofers, and baking equipment to ensure correct baking times and temperatures
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation in line with food safety standards
- Follow proper food handling and storage procedures
- Manage overnight production to ensure the bakery is fully stocked for morning service
- Assist with ingredient preparation and inventory monitoring
- Ensure all products meet quality and consistency standards Requirements
- Previous baking or pastry experience preferred
- Ability to work overnight shifts independently
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to follow recipes and production systems accurately
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- Physically capable of lifting bags of flour and standing for extended periods Schedule
