Sirva is now seeking an Imports Specialist to support our international clients in AU/NZ based out of our Richlands branch, Brisbane. Position Summary To support all aspects specific to the Inbound AUNZ product ensuring maximum efficiency, professionalism and consistency of service provided to all clients, our allied locations, and in conjunction with other regional leaders and move management CX team members across the APAC region. Responsibilities
- Monitoring qualified and congenial liaison with sister companies, franchises, partner agents, customs & quarantine authorities, shipping companies, and other commercial entities, always endeavoring to assist them where possible and ensuring prompt response is given to all correspondence, including e‑mails.
- Reporting real and potential problems, as well as any unsatisfactory practices, to your manager for action.
- Receiving and registering all import documentation into AMOS, EDI, and customs CMR systems, always mindful of the penalties incurred for late reporting to customs.
- Closely monitoring shipment arrival schedules to ensure early reporting to customs to avoid late reporting penalties.
- Liaising with shipping companies and other commercial entities to establish any charges due and arrange due payments, obtaining necessary documentation to collect containers from the wharf.
- Escalating instances of habitually delinquent overseas offices, agents or affiliates to management as appropriate.
- Liaising with operations departments nationwide to ensure timely collection of containers from the wharf.
- Close monitoring of container unloading in a timely manner to facilitate deliveries within the required time frames.
- Processing quarantine treatment directions and charges within the required time frames.
- Ensuring timely receipt of customs & quarantine clearances to enable delivery within the company standard time frames. Qualifications
- Knowledge of import regulations and processes.
- Experience with import documentation and customs clearance.
- Relevant experience in the same industry – relocation and moving services.
- Strong organizational skills; the ability to function as part of a team while acting as a self-starter.
- Ability to manage deadlines, multi‑task, and operate in a fast‑paced environment.
