**About the Business**
Our Pathways, Evidence and Partnerships Directorate clinically assesses referrals for service matching and gathers the latest evidence and data to shape reform and delivery of Child and Family Support System. This includes commissioning non-government organisations to deliver services and equipping practitioners with the resources they need to reduce children's escalation in the child protection system.
**Role Details**
The Family Violence Practitioner is located within Safer Family Services (SFS), Pathways Service and works across the Child and Family Support System with a specific focus on providing state-wide consultation, and targeted case management intervention and support, to children and their families experiencing domestic or family violence within their homes. As part of the Pathways Service Team, the incumbent will also process referrals to the Safer Family Services, Pathways Service.
The Family Violence Practitioner is a role within Safer Family Services (SFS) and is accountable to the Supervisor, Pathways Service for:
- Strengthening communication and understanding across the child protection and domestic/ family violence support systems for timely and effective responses to meeting the needs of children and their families.
- Demonstrating effective engagement with children and families in a supportive diversionary role
- Providing high quality and effective service to respond to the needs of children and their families in a timely manner and in a supportive diversionary role.
- Promoting and developing strong partnerships to create best outcomes for families
- Assessing the needs of children and families, planning and delivering focussed intervention to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes
- Working in partnership with all stakeholders across the child protection, education and human service systems, to identify and implement responses to vulnerable families
- Optimising the use of community resources.
**Special Condidtions**
National Police Check required. Employment-related Screening Check required. Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required. Must hold a current Australian issued driver’s licence (equivalent to minimum class C).
**Role Status**: Term up to 27/06/2025
**Salary Range**: $88,255- $102,240 (AHP2)
