About the OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a Combat Systems Navigation Technician to join our Combat Systems & Integration line of business based at Mawson Lakes and the Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.
You will be responsible for the maintenance, management, operation and repair of the Hobart Class Navigation and Aviation Support Systems, as well as providing technical support to the customer and engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform a wide range of activities supporting the test, operation, maintenance and configuration of the Navigation and Aviation Support Systems.
- Identify faults, isolate and repair Navigation and Aviation Support equipment.
- Identify and resolve equipment and documentation discrepancies.
- Assist during test performance activities with collection and analysis of system performance data.
- Utilise special or general-purpose test equipment, tools, optical aids and other techniques during troubleshooting, maintenance and equipment repair process as required.
- Ensure compliance with maintenance management processes.
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders both Internal and External.**
About YOU
- Certificate III or above in electronics, electrical engineering, electrical instrumentation, communications engineering, engineering technical and/or equivalent relevant experience.
- Experience in the maintenance and repair of network systems and equipment, integrated systems, sub-systems, and software.
- Knowledge of Maritime/Naval Navigation Systems is highly desirable
- Working knowledge of general-purpose test equipment, diagnostic tools, computers and computer programs.
- Able to conduct fault detection/fault isolation procedures and perform maintenance/repair.
- Solid communication skills both written and verbal
- NV1 defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain
- Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
