With more than 30 years’ experience on Mine Sites, Onshore Rigs, Oil Refineries, Petroleum & Chemical Pipelines, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Chemical, Dairy and Pharmaceutical Plants we are seeking the experience of a first class welder to join our company
Salary: $76515
- $80000
Position: Welder
LOCATION: Ingleburn, 2565
HOURS: Monday
- Friday
- (Overtime available)
DURATION: Permanent / Full Time
START DATE: ASAP
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS
Welder Trade Certificate (Cert III in Engineering-Fabrication Trade) or Similar
Experience within a fabrication workshop or manufacturing based role is essential.
Construction White Card
On the job training will be provided.
JOB ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
. Reporting directly to your workshop/area supervisor you will be required to work autonomously and within a manufacturing team to assist in
the fabrication and assembly of components.
. Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
. Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements
. Set up components for welding according to specifications (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)
. Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded
. Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
. Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
. Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps
. Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
. Monitor work equipment to ensure usage is within optimum temperature to avoid overheating or expansion
. Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
. Mount and secure workpieces on production equipment using cranes, hoists or banding machines\.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
The position offers immediate start working with our fast-paced team and would require the successful candidates to possess the following essential qualifications.
Boilermaker/Welder Trade Certificate
Mild steel, Aluminium or Stainless-Steel welding experience
Ability to read drawings & mark out your own jobs
Construction Industry White Card
Construction/manufacturing experience
Experience within a fabrication workshop or manufacturing based role is essential
ATTRIBUTES
Physically fit and enjoy working both indoors and out
Ability to work in a team setting
Able to follow directions and instructions from area supervisors and managers
