Retail Sales Assistant (Leppington)

**Key Responsibilities Retail Operations**:

- Provide friendly and helpful customer service.
- Assist with sales transactions, operating the till, and handling cash and EFTPOS payments.
- Receive, sort, and price donations following store guidelines.
- Create attractive displays and keep the shop floor tidy and well-stocked.
- Ensure all items meet quality and safety standards before sale.
- Support daily cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and welcoming setting.

**Training & Mentoring**:

- Work alongside **NDIS participants**, providing hands-on training in retail skills such as customer service, stock handling, merchandising, and teamwork.
- Support **Work for the Dole participants**, encouraging positive work habits, confidence, and general work readiness.
- Provide clear instructions, positive feedback, and constructive guidance to participants.
- Encourage inclusion and promote a supportive environment where participants feel valued and capable.
- Document participants’ progress as required, assisting with reporting if needed.

**Teamwork & Communication**:

- Work collaboratively with other staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Communicate regularly with the Store Manager about any issues, successes, or training needs for participants.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas to improve shop operations and training programs.

**Compliance & Safety**:

- Follow workplace health and safety policies.
- Ensure participants understand and follow all safety procedures.
- Report any incidents, hazards, or concerns to the Store Manager promptly.

Pay: $50,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday

**Experience**:

- Retail sales: 2 years (required)
