CPA Qualified Bookkeeper / Accounts Controller (Part-Time) …, Ingleburn

Take Ownership of AR & AP | Family-Owned Business We are a growing, family-owned vacuum excavation and pipe management company seeking a capable, commercially minded CPA to take full ownership of our internal accounts function. This is not a processing role. We are looking for someone who is confident, proactive and comfortable taking control of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable — including direct communication with customers and suppliers. The Role Initially 8 hours per day, 3-5 days per week. You will work closely with the business owners and coordinate with our virtual assistants, but you will be the person accountable for the accuracy, integrity and flow of our accounts. Your Responsibilities
- Daily bank and credit card reconciliations
- Full ownership of AR and AP processes
- Actively managing debtor collections to maintain healthy cash flow
- Calling customers weekly (and where required, daily) to follow up outstanding invoices
- Liaising directly with suppliers regarding payment terms, discrepancies and account queries
- Invoice approvals and cross-checking
- Identifying errors, inefficiencies or gaps in process and addressing them
- Ensuring accounts are accurate, current and controlled This role requires someone who is confident on the phone and comfortable having direct conversations about money. You must be able to follow up firmly yet professionally and not shy away from difficult conversations. About You
- CPA qualified (essential)
- Strong bookkeeping and accounting background
- Assertive, clear communicator — especially over the phone
- Commercially aware and understands the importance of cash flow
- Detail-oriented and highly organised
- Takes ownership rather than waiting for direction
