Faith Lutheran College Plainland has an exciting opportunity for individuals with a Certificate III/IV in Education Support (or those studying a Bachelor of Education) to join our contemporary and progressive Christian secondary school as a Casual Teacher Aide. This role is ideal for flexible, adaptable individuals who enjoy working in a team environment, are solution-oriented, and are passionate about creating positive, hands-on learning experiences for students. This is a casual position with no fixed or ongoing hours. Teacher Aides in this role are engaged on an as-needed basis to provide support when permanent staff are unavailable or when additional assistance is required. Availability for short notice work and flexibility across days and duties is essential. Key Responsibilities This position encompasses a variety of duties including:
- Promoting the mission and ethos of the College
- Providing versatile teacher aide support across year levels and learning areas, often at short notice
- Assisting with the implementation of Learning Enrichment support offerings
- Supporting students in classrooms through one-on-one and small group assistance
- Providing administrative support to Classroom Teachers as required
- Contributing to the effective operation of College events, activities, and functions Selection Criteria
- Certificate III/IV in Education Support or studying a Bachelor of Education
- Current paid Blue Card registration
- Demonstrated flexibility, reliability, and availability to work on a casual, on-call basis
- Genuine interest in supporting the learning needs of adolescents
- Ability to quickly build rapport and work effectively across different classrooms and teams
- Actively supports the strategic direction of Learning Enrichment at Faith
- Ability to support the Christian and Lutheran ethos and culture of the College
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to assist teachers to enhance student learning
