Summary: Aussie Angels Nursing & Disability Services (AANS) is a person-centred NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality clinical and disability supports across Queensland. We specialise in complex care, community nursing, DVA and capacity-building supports that empower participants to live with dignity, independence, and choice. We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with skills in continence assessment and education to support NDIS participants in the community and provide continence-focused training to Support Workers. This role is ideal for someone passionate about improving continence outcomes, promoting dignity, and supporting frontline disability staff to deliver safe, evidence-based care. The successful candidate will also be providing quality patient care, administering medications, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be detail-oriented, and have a passion for helping others. Responsibilities:
- Conduct continence assessments & develop care plans
- Provide bladder and bowel health education to participants and support workers
- Train disability staff in safe bowel care, continence aids, infection control & skin integrity
- Support participants with continence strategies, toileting plans & bowel care protocols
- Document clinical reviews, reports and progress notes in line with NDIS standards
- Provide education and care for catheter cares, PEG feeding and the like.
- Work collaboratively with allied health, GPs, families, and support coordinators
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and medical history
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and their families on healthcare procedures and treatments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Respond to patient emergencies and provide immediate care as needed
- Adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced workplace
