- Total remuneration range $162,350 to $186,598 pa (includes salary range of $136,917 to $157,367 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading) Level D
- Total remuneration range $194,677 to $214,071 pa (includes salary range of $164,180 to $180,536 pa, employer super contributions of 17% and annual leave loading) Appointment to this position will be made at Academic Level C or Level D, commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience, research track record, and leadership capability. Who you are You are an experienced First Nations researcher with proven outcomes in scholarly publications and obtaining research grants and funding. You work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including First Nations communities, academic and administrative units to achieve outcomes aligned with UniSQ’s vision and strategic objectives in relation to First Nations research. What you’ll do This is a rare opportunity for a respected First Nations scholar to provide strategic leadership that helps shape culturally grounded, ethical and community-led research to deliver meaningful outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Elders, communities and future generations. Guided by UniSQ’s First Nations Strategic Workforce Framework 2026–2030 and the First Nations Research Strategy 2024-2028, this role plays a critical leadership function in strengthening research excellence, growing First Nations research capacity, and embedding Indigenous knowledges across the University. You will coordinate First Nations research proposals to bodies such as the ARC, NHMRC, government and industry as well as mentor and support First Nations HDR candidates and emerging researchers to ensure culturally safe, ethical and community-responsive research practices that help strengthen regional and national collaborations in Indigenous research and higher education. What will help you succeed You are a First Nations researcher and leader with a strong track record and a deep commitment to research that serves community aspirations. You will bring:
- A PhD with significant experience in a relevant discipline
- Recognition as a leading or emerging authority in your field, with demonstrated research impact
- Proven experience in First Nations research grounded in cultural protocols, ethics and community engagement
- A strong record of scholarly publications and/or research income generation
- High-level communication and relationship-building skills across diverse cultural and institutional contexts
