Technical Services Technician (Cobar)

About Us Polymetals (ASX: POL) acquired the Endeavor Mine in 2023 and formally took control in August 2024. Endeavor is a major underground silver/lead/zinc mine, located 40km north-west of Cobar in Central-West NSW. Since then, Polymetals has delivered an initial 10-year mine plan, secured two US $20million (A$30million) loan facilities, have restarted mining operations and have begun 24/7 concentrate production. It’s an exciting time for Endeavor and the Cobar region, with significant employment opportunities now on the market for the Endeavor Mine restart: one of Australia’s major base metals mines.

The Role As we continue to ramp up operations at Endeavor Mine, we are seeking a Technical Services Technician to join our site-based technical services team. This role will provide hands-on support across Mining Engineering, Geology, Survey and Geotechnical functions, helping ensure the safe, accurate and efficient collection, validation and reporting of underground mining data.

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Conducting underground ventilation checks, inspections and geotechnical compliance checks, including ground support inspections.
- Assisting with survey mark-ups, pickups and basic set-outs.
- Supporting geological activities including sampling, mapping and logging.
- Collecting, recording and validating underground operational data.
- Maintaining and updating data in Excel and mining software systems such as Deswik.
- Assisting with daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
- Supporting Mining Engineers with planning inputs, data validation and technical records.
- Assisting with grout and bolt testing data collection and tracking.
- Identifying and reporting hazards, unsafe conditions and technical concerns.
- Working closely with Mining, Geology, Survey, Geotechnical and Underground Operations teams to support safe and productive mine performance. To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- A Certificate, Diploma or relevant trade/technical qualification in Mining, Survey, Geology, Geotechnical, Civil or a related field; or equivalent practical underground mining experience.
- Previous experience in an underground hard rock mining environment.
- Experience conducting underground inspections, data collection or operational support activities.
- Exposure to underground mining operations, development activities and production environments.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- The ability to collect, record and maintain accurate operational data.
- A practical understanding of underground mining methods, safety requirements and operational processes.
- Strong attention to detail, communication and teamwork skills.
- A current Australian Driver’s Licence. Benefits:
