ABOUT US The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines. We are proud to have recently joined Harmony Australasia. Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. In Australia, Harmony owns the high-grade CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW and is currently preparing to progress the Execution Phase of the Eva Copper Mine Project in QLD. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane. The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine. ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Mine Surveyor to play a pivotal role in supporting protected, efficient, and productive mining operations. Working closely with engineering, geology, and operational teams, you will provide accurate and timely surveying services that contribute to the successful planning, development, and execution of underground mining activities. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct accurate underground and surface surveys to support mine development, production, and infrastructure projects
- Maintain survey control networks, plans, and records in accordance with statutory and company requirements
- Provide survey data and technical input to support mine planning, design, and operational decision-making
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and regulatory obligations
- Monitor and report on survey accuracy, standards, and quality assurance requirements
- Collaborate effectively with engineers, geologists, and operational personnel to achieve project objectives
- Mentor, coach, and support the professional development of junior survey team members ABOUT YOU To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Current registration as a Mine Surveyor with the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information NSW (BOSSI)
- Demonstrated experience in underground mining environments; copper mining experience will be highly regarded
- Robust proficiency with modern surveying equipment and mining software, including Leica, Trimble, and Deswik
- Sound knowledge of statutory surveying requirements and mining regulations
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail
- A strong commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork
