The Centre for Learning and Teaching The Centre for Learning and Teaching (CLT) contributes to the leadership and implementation of strategic teaching and learning and change across the University through collaborative partnerships with Schools and Service Centres. CLT provisions professional learning for all teaching roles in the University to promote evidenced based and scholarly practice. Additionally, CLT leads the implementation of learning technologies across the University, delivery of learning support programs for students, and active support of Schools to deliver best practice curriculum design and assessment. About the Opportunity The Educational Designer, Inclusive Practice is a shared position between Access and Equity and the Centre for Learning and Teaching supporting Universal Design for Learning and accessibility within learning and teaching. Positioned within the Centre for Learning and Teaching, this specialist fosters an inclusive educational environment by empowering staff to implement Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and accessibility principles that support inclusive learning and teaching practices across diverse learning settings. The position ensures that educational practices are accessible, engaging, and effective for all students, with a focus on students with disabilities, health conditions or who are neurodivergent. The role involves a collaborative approach to curriculum design, integrating expertise in inclusive educational practice and accessibility. The role collaborates with multi-disciplinary teams to guide leading practice in inclusive curriculum design and pedagogy, and the use of educational technologies to address accessibility gaps and promote equity and inclusion in learning. By offering dedicated support and professional development to staff, the Educational Designer, Inclusive Practice is pivotal in the creation of an educational environment that is inclusive and enhances the conditions for every student’s success. About you Undergraduate degree or higher qualification with subsequent relevant experience; or equivalent level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training or professional accreditation. A degree in education, learning design or accessibility an advantage. Demonstrated experience in educational or learning design. Experience and/or expertise in Universal Design for Learning, accessible and inclusive pedagogies and/or teaching for equity, diversity and inclusion. Demonstrated understanding of the principles of pedagogy, course design and blended learning and experience in developing pedagogically appropriate educational resources, preferably for university academics or adult learners. Proven ability and experience in incorporating, Universal Design for Learning, accessibility pedagogies and/or diverse learning-centred teaching strategies into the development of quality learning experiences across a range of delivery modes. Willingness and commitment to learn and support staff to use new approaches and various technologies to enhance the teaching and learning experience. Experience teaching in a higher education setting desirable.
