Bellevue Gold Limited (ASX:BGL) is a high-grade gold mine in Western Australia. The Bellevue mine is expected to be a long life mine and has stated FY26 guidance to produce 130,000-150,000 Au ounces. Underground mining has occurred since late 2020 to establish multiple mining fronts that de-risks production with exploration potential expected to grow the current high-grade resource. The Bellevue Gold Mine is located approximately 30km north of Leinster township and sits in a major gold and nickel producing district. The Company has a highly skilled management team with a track record of exploration success and development of major gold mines. Bellevue Gold has achieved its ambitious goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions for the Bellevue Gold Project. This milestone has been underpinned by a sector-leading renewable energy power station, designed to deliver approximately 70–80% renewable energy penetration and support Bellevue’s position as a low-carbon gold producer. The key function of the Contracts and Procurement Manager is to manage the contracts, procurement and warehousing processes and team with a view to ensuring goods and services are obtained as required, on a value for money and acceptable terms basis, which are securely held and recorded, and terms of arrangements are monitored and adhered to. The role includes ensuring processes, policies and procedures are developed, implemented and monitored to drive efficiencies, cost effectiveness, and adherence to the company’s values and strategy, including managing associated corporate governance frameworks and any necessary board reporting (including recommendations on material contracts). As a relatively new operation, a focus on continual improvement, identification and assistance in driving cost efficiencies and advantages and supporting operational requirements is key. Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Managing a portfolio of high-profile mining services and operationally critical supply contracts, ensuring performance, compliance and value delivery.
- Developing and implementing contracting and procurement strategies aligned to operational and strategic objectives.
- Developing policies and procedures to support an efficient and well governed function, including adherence to any relevant laws and regulations and stated Company objectives.
- Support internal stakeholders via managing end to end sourcing processes from RFX development to supplier negotiations and award for major goods and services.
- Ensure business proposals address operational and strategic requirements, quotes/cost estimates are obtained, value for money achieved and risks mitigated consistent with sound business practices, company policies, and regulations.
- Leverage deep knowledge of category cost drivers, risk mitigation and industry trends to secure favourable long-term agreements and identify areas to work with the business on in generating cost efficiencies and productivity benefits.
- Review and negotiate contract terms, working closely with Legal as required.
- Manage key supplier relationships and resolve contractual or commercial issues.
- Maintain contracts register/database, including monitoring of key compliance activities and needs and potential benefits of retendering key contracts (including rate reductions with a value for money and needs mindset).
- Undertake spot checks and reviews in relation to adherence to contract terms and pricing (e.g. rate schedules, rise and fall clauses etc).
- Manage warehousing activities, including establishment of processes and procedures, cataloguing, working with the business to identify critical items and re-ordering levels (balancing business risks and operational continuity with efficient stock levels), stocktaking, recording, identification and management of slow moving and obsolete stock and so forth.
- Maintain records of approved suppliers, including acceptance of new suppliers, and periodic evaluation of vendor performance as appropriate.
- Manage ordering of goods and services from approved suppliers.
- Work closely with finance personnel to ensure integrity of financial information.
- Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships to keep informed and ensure quality departmental service delivery.
- Monthly reporting summarising key activity, tenders, cost savings and other relevant information (including the development and reporting of appropriate KPIs)
- Input as necessary into budget and forecasting assumption setting and processes.
- Lead, coach and develop team members to support development of the function and engagement of team.
- Ensure the Company’s PACE values are embedded in the function and key activities. Key Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
- Relevant post-grad qualification
- Tertiary qualification
- Demonstrated ability to operate at multiple levels in a lean, fast growing business
- Understanding of mining and exploration businesses, operations, vendors and required goods and services key
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in a suitably similar role
- Recent experience (at a senior level) encompassing managing contracts tender processes, procurement activities and monitoring of supply chain activities and contract adherence
- High accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients
- Focus on coaching, developing and growing teams
- Pronto experience highly regarded
