Working closely with the Head Chef and Management, this role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a high standard while maintaining a safe, efficient, and hygienic kitchen environment. The Cook also supports kitchen operations, contributes to a positive team culture, and ensures all food handling and safety procedures are consistently followed. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and serve food to quality standards.
- Assist with food preparation across kitchen stations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic workspace.
- Operate kitchen equipment and dishwashing areas.
- Minimise wastage and check ingredient quality.
- Follow all SOPs, hotel policies, and OH&S; guidelines.
- Support training and supervision of staff when required.
- Maintain professional grooming and positive team relationships.
- Monitor stock levels and ensure proper food storage.
- Complete additional tasks as directed by Management. Skills & Experience
- Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar cook role.
- Solid food preparation and safe‑food‑handling knowledge.
- Understanding of kitchen hygiene and OH&S; standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, organised, and able to follow instructions.
