Be part of something special Warlu Way is seeking experienced Sous Chefs to join our growing hospitality team in Karratha and help shape the next stage of our food offering. This is an opportunity to step into a genuine leadership role, work closely with our Executive Chef, and put your culinary stamp on venues that are helping position Karratha as an emerging food destination. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen, lead and develop the team, maintain high standards across food quality and service, and contribute to menu development, kitchen systems and overall operational performance. Warlu Way is building an exceptional hospitality and accommodation offering in Western Australia, with a growing reputation for quality, service and genuine regional hospitality. About the role As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting the Executive Chef with the daily operation of the kitchen
- Leading, mentoring and motivating the kitchen team
- Maintaining high standards across food quality, presentation and consistency
- Contributing to creative menu development and seasonal menu planning
- Assisting with menu costing, stock control and food cost management
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards are consistently met
- Supporting a positive, professional and high-performance kitchen culture
- Working across a seven-day roster, including days, nights, weekends and public holidays About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Several years’ experience in fast-paced kitchens with high-quality menus
- Previous experience in a Sous Chef or similar senior kitchen role
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to run all areas of the kitchen
- A sound understanding of contemporary Australian cuisine and current food trends
- A calm, level-headed approach under pressure
- A genuine obsession with guest satisfaction
- A self-motivated, can-do attitude
- Strong food safety knowledge and HACCP awareness
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, with Certificate IV preferred Most importantly, you will be someone who takes pride in your work, supports your team and wants to be part of building something with long-term potential.
