Pathway Program – Security Officers (Karratha)

About this role The G4S Security Pathway is a funded path to become a Facility Security Officer and work at the client site in Karratha. Our next Security Pathway course will commence on Wednesday 20th May and run until Friday 29th May. You will be required to attend the full 10‑day course in Karratha. For more information on the course and G4S processes, visit en-au/careers/security-pathway. Training Course Course length: 10 days full time. Dates: 20‑29 May, 8:30‑4:30pm. Application & Onboarding All applications will be reviewed and local applicants who meet eligibility criteria will be contacted by the G4S Talent Acquisition team to discuss the opportunity in more detail. Applicants will complete an in‑person interview. Successful candidates must pass a National Police Check, Medical Check and verification of work and study rights. An offer of employment will then be provided to commence at a future date as per anticipated licensing time frames. G4S will provide the training required for a CertII in Security Operations and support the process of obtaining your WA Security Licence. Course completion and licence issuing process takes approximately 8 weeks. About the role you will train for Facility Security Officers are skilled and trained to support our energy client in delivering energy services safely. In a wide-ranging role the primary responsibility is to ensure the immediate safety and security of the premises and all people on the premises. Duties include:
- Patrol vast areas and serve as part of an Initial Response Team for emergency responses, assisting paramedics.
- Provide surveillance and deescalate abnormal incidents, liaise with Police, perform drug and alcohol tests, assist all staff, visitors and contractors onsite.
- Undertake maritime duties. Shift and Pay Shift length: 12‑hour shifts. Shift pattern: 1 week on, 1 week off (including Saturdays & Sundays). Shift times: mix of 5AM – 5PM and 5PM – 5AM. Hourly rate (Full Time): $p/h plus penalties for evenings/weekends. Hourly rate (Casual): $p/h plus penalties for evenings/weekends. Qualifications
- Reside close to Karratha.
- Hold Western Australian Driver’s License.
- Pass CertificateII in Security Operations.
- Pass G4S and WA Police Security background checks.
