Bartender/server (Katoomba)

Avalon Restaurant and Cocktail Bar in Katoomba is looking for an experienced and creative bartender to join the team.

A thorough knowledge of mixology, wines, popular liquor and cocktails is required.

The ever-popular Avalon Restaurant & Cocktail Bar is set in the historic Savoy picture theatre building at Katoomba, and combines playful art-deco charm with hearty food, friendly service and spectacular Blue Mountains views.

Key Requirements:

- Excellent knowledge of in mixing, garnishing and serving drinks
- Proven working experience as a bar tender
- A friendly, welcoming and helpful attitude towards guests
- Ability to multi-task and work in a very busy workplace
- Flexible schedule with availability on nights, weekends and holiday periods
- Hold a current RSA, with a working knowledge of the Responsible Service of Alcohol
- Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
- Barista skills an advantage

**Responsibilities**:

- Full bar service including wine, beer and crafted cocktails
- Check customer identification to ensure they are of legal drinking age
- Maintaining inventory and bar supplies
- Making drinks in a quick and efficient manner
- Ability to keep the bar organised, stocked and clean
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and dining room
- Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
- Assist in the planning and presentation of bar and cocktail menu and specials
- Assisting in restaurant when required

This is a casual role, working mostly evenings and weekends.

**Experience**:

- Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- RSA (required)
