Our Portland Smelter is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Reliability Engineer – Electrical to join our team on a permanent basis. Working Monday through Friday, with one flexi leisure day every four‑week period you will enjoy the challenges of a technical site role coupled with a healthy work‑life balance. Responsibilities
- Identify long‑term improvement opportunities through technical expertise focused on equipment reliability and plant capacity.
- Provide single‑point accountability for engineering support in day‑to‑day operations.
- Act as a catalyst, contributing to improvements in Operation Area performance in both the short and long term.
- Lead root‑cause analysis investigations of failures.
- Develop work scopes for major equipment repairs using fitness‑for‑service approaches.
- Develop and improve equipment management strategies using a suite of reliability approaches.
- Implement improvements and drive projects to completion.
- Participate in capital projects and provide safety leadership.
- Apply sound business acumen to support overall plant success.
- Commit to environment, health and safety in the workplace. Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering with previous experience in maintenance, reliability, heavy industry or plant engineering.
- Understanding of risk management, quality improvement and reliability excellence processes.
- Ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation with a customer‑centric mentality.
- Track record of proactive problem‑solving, initiative and continuous improvement.
- Ability to prioritise a high workload and persevere through daily challenges. Perks
