We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and trauma-informed female Support Worker to support an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participant within the community and home environment.
The participant values respectful, culturally protected, calm, and consistent supports that promote dignity, choice, independence, and emotional safety. The successful support worker will need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, emotional maturity, and an understanding of person-centred and trauma-informed practice.
The participant enjoys social connection, storytelling, community participation, and engaging in meaningful conversations when comfortable. She is currently seeking greater community engagement and advantages from support workers who can encourage safe social participation and positive routine-based support.
Support Requirements Include: Community access and social participation Emotional support and companionship Assistance attending appointments and outings Supporting independence and participant choice Providing calm, predictable, and non-authoritarian support Maintaining skilled boundaries and respectful engagement at all times
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants, trauma-informed practice, grief and loss, mental health, or psychosocial supports will be highly regarded.
Mandatory Requirements: Female support worker only NDIS Worker Screening Check Working With Children Check Current Police Check Current First Aid & CPR Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle Relevant qualification in Disability, Individual Support, Community Services, Mental Health, Nursing, or related field Strong communication, professionalism, and documentation skills
IMPORTANT – APPLICANTS MUST HAVE WEEKDAY AFTERNOON AVAILABILITY FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY.
Shift times may vary depending on participant preference and support needs. Applicants without weekday afternoon availability will not be considered.
