Description
This is a permanent full time position commencing Term 2, 2026 Kelmscott Senior High School (SHS) is a school of opportunity for students, offering Department of Education endorsed Specialist Programs in Agriculture and Music, a Gifted & Talented Secondary Selective Entrance Program, and a range of Kelmscott Extension Programs (KEP) in Mathematics, Science, English and Humanities & Social Sciences. We are one of only two schools to provide Gifted & Talented online programs to rural areas. We have a proud reputation for promoting students to be active citizens at local, state, national and international levels. Students have access to language exchange programs, the National Schools Constitutional Convention, the Premier's ANZAC tour and the World Scholar's Cup, among others. The Role Kelmscott SHS is seeking a passionate and culturally responsive Aboriginal Student Support Officer to lead an Aboriginal Boys Enrichment Program. This role is ideal for someone who values mentoring, building strong relationships, and creating opportunities for young Aboriginal men to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities
- Develop and run activities that build confidence, resilience, and life skills.
- Support students with attendance, engagement, and pathway planning.
- Build strong connections between school, families, and community agencies.
- Assist with case conferences and implement strategies to support individual needs. Eligibility
- Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
- Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.
