**Artifex Australia** is a leading Australian manufacturer of residential and commercial furniture. We are strictly wholesale and have been distributing our designs across Australia for over 40 years. Our company is different from other manufacturers because we do everything in-house, from the initial design of furniture items, to cutting foam, metalwork and woodwork, so we are not limited by the components of other companies.
**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING**:
- Designing & creating new & beautiful furniture items, being limited only by your imagination & market directions.
- Preparing a range of sketches, computer-generated illustrations, samples & models of design concepts including 3D renders & 2D drawings.
- Using 1:1 full elevation drawings to design furniture items to perfection.
- Using AutoCAD skills to assist with floor plans, layouts & furniture designs.
- Creating 3D quality renders of designs.
- Building prototypes of designs to identify any design problems.
- Reviewing designs for existing products to check for flaws, improve on the design, reduce costs or modernise as necessary.
- Presenting design ideas to management.
- Liaising with clients & suppliers regarding furniture needs or requirements.
- Liaising with manufacturing team during manufacturing process.
- Helping to problem solve & iron out any issues during the manufacturing process in the factory.
- Recommending & selecting materials for production.
- Making cutting lists & patterns for various departments
- including timber, foam, metal & upholstery departments.
- Maintaining awareness & knowledge of furniture design trends & market changes.
**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE**:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in design.
- Experience designing & creating unique/innovative furniture items.
- Experience making templates from various materials including foam, metal, timber, fabric etc.
- Knowledge of furniture construction materials
- e.g. how long products last & availability.
- Knowledge of furniture comfort & style requirements
- e.g. sizes & densities.
- A passion for furniture.
- Knowledge of current trends & market conditions.
- Exceptional communication skills & presentation.
- Proficiency in all relevant design software programs
- e.g. AutoCAD, Adobe etc.
- A friendly personality & ability to work well in a team setting.
- Time management skills & the ability to work within deadlines.
The Furniture Designer position is a full-time / permanent role. Salary Range $70,000-$75,000 based on experience.

- $75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Fixed shift
