About the Role: John Wollaston Anglican Community School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Music Tutor
- Vocals to join our talented team on a part-time, ongoing basis. This is an exciting chance for a passionate vocal educator to play a key role in nurturing students’ musical growth and contributing to the vibrancy of our performing arts program. As a Music Tutor – Vocals, you will deliver high-quality vocal instruction and support the development of students’ musical abilities across the school. You will also play a pivotal role in establishing and leading the School Choir, fostering a strong culture of choral excellence and student engagement in performance. The role offers approximately 12 contact hours per week, scheduled across two days which can be negotiable to suit the successful candidate. What You'll be doing:
- Delivering engaging and tailored vocal lessons to individual students or small groups across the Primary and Secondary School.
- Monitoring student progress and providing constructive, ongoing feedback to support skill development.
- Maintaining open and effective communication with families, including the provision of regular student progress updates.
- Encourage and support student participation in school concerts, performances, and music events.
- Lead and support the school choir, fostering teamwork and musical growth. What we're looking for:
- Strong vocal skills with experience teaching music to students of various ages and skill levels.
- A genuine passion for music education and a commitment to fostering student confidence and musical growth.
- Well‑developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- A flexible and adaptive teaching style, with the capacity to differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs
- Excellent organisational skills and effective time management
- Relevant qualifications in music or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A valid Working with Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check or willingness to obtain. What we offer:
