About the Business and the Role
Custom Quip Engineering Pty Ltd (CQE) is a well-established Western Australian Vehicle Body Building business with over two decades of experience specialising in the design and manufacture of quality transport equipment. CQE Is part of the GH Varley Group of companies with 140 years of engineering and manufacturing excellence.
CQE seek 1st Year Apprentice Vehicle Body Builders to join the CQE team, at our purpose-built facility, centrally located in Kenwick W.A.
The successful applicant will benefit from a secure, supportive, and team-oriented environment while gaining hands-on experience and developing a comprehensive skill set in the manufacture, maintenance and repair of a diverse range of transport equipment.
As an Apprentice Vehicle Body Builder your learning journey will include Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including fabrication, pneumatic, hydraulic and component schematics. Fabricating and welding a diverse range of custom transport equipment. Repairing, modifying and maintaining used equipment. Heavy mechanical fitting and repair duties including: suspension, air brake components, hydraulics, pneumatic, electrical and general hardware/accessories. General skills associated with heavy automotive abrasive blasting and painting practices. Various skills and experience required to start a successful career in the heavy vehicle manufacturing industry.
Skills & Experience required Show strong interest in metal and automotive skills. A basic level of experience working with hand and power tools. *Completion of a pre-apprenticeship is an advantage though not essential. Have a current C Class Drivers License and reliable Transport. Be self-starting and well organised, whilst being able to contribute to a safe, friendly and "Can-Do" work environment. Be available to complete pre-placement, and random D&A; testing.
