Position Details: Palm Lake Resort Willow Lodge is seeking dedicated and hands-on Caretaker Couple to manage our resort’s operations, provide outstanding service to residents, and ensure the smooth functioning of the resort. The Resort Caretaker role is made up of 2 full time positions to cover the full scope of administrative & operational requirements of the role. Reporting to, and supported by, the Resort Operations Manager, our Resort Caretakers play a critical role in leading our on site teams to success & providing the iconic Palm Lake lifestyle for our residents. Responsibilities: As Resort Caretakers, you will be responsible for a wide range of administrative & operational tasks to maintain the resort's high standards, including:
- Maintain the resort’s cleanliness, security, presentation, and overall upkeep, including grounds, common areas, facilities, and amenities.
- Perform and coordinate general maintenance, repairs, groundskeeping, pest control, and operation of equipment including mowers, trimmers, and pool facilities.
- Supervise and train staff, ensuring safe work practices and compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Support day-to-day resort operations, resident assistance, facility checks, waste management, and emergency response.
- Assist with meal service and support the delivery of resident activities and transport, including driving the resort bus when required.
- Complete administrative tasks including reception support, timesheets, utility readings, and record keeping.
- Support the sale of pre-loved homes by handling enquiries, conducting tours and assisting with resident onboarding and handovers.
- Promote and uphold Workplace Health & Safety standards and compliance throughout the resort.
- Respond to emergency incidents, and ensure the resort remains secure.
- Deliver friendly resident service while fostering a positive community atmosphere and enhancing the resort’s reputation. What We’re Looking For: We are looking for someone who shares our values and belief that respect, passion, community, impact & safety underpin all the work we do. To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- 3-5 years experience in a caretaking, facilities, maintenance, groundskeeping or village/resort management role.
- Experience performing general maintenance, gardening and property upkeep tasks across a residential, hospitality or resort environment.
- Previous experience supervising, training or coordinating staff and contractors.
- Current unrestricted driver’s licence with confidence driving larger vehicles or buses.
- Administrative experience, supported by robust computer literacy & working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment and tools.
- Strong understanding of Workplace Health & Safety requirements and safe work practices.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and visitors.
- Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters professionally.
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Positive, proactive and hands-on approach with a strong commitment to maintaining high presentation and service standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with strong organisational skills.
