Team Leader/climbing Arborist (Kiama)

**Position Overview**: Burnett Trees is Seeking a competent, experienced and professional Climbing team leader to carry out day to day tasks for tree removals of all shapes and sizes in a heavily team-based environment.

The applicant will need to be experienced in the complete take down of trees to stump grinding and logistics of jobs through to completion of entire jobs and or projects, as we deal with both commercial, residential and government clientele Burnett Trees offers a diverse range of work opportunities throughout the Illawarra region and surrounds.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- The applicant will ensure all plant and equipment has been pre-start checked ready for works on the day and if not will have the knowledge to flag exactly what is wrong with the machine so that it doesn’t go to site faulty.
- The applicant will ensure that their schedule and equipment is ready to commence work each morning prior to the team arriving on-site.
- The applicant will need to deliver a high level of customer service and be able to deliver any knowledge of incidents, near misses, staff and safety concerns or logístical issues to the operations manager in a calm and professional manner.
- The applicant will need to be meet strict deadlines and be able to work efficiently and safely in a fast-paced and heavily team dependant workplace.

**Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required**
- Climbing arborist/Team leading arborist experience at a minimum.
- (Demonstrated experience of utilising a helicopter for tree removal is highly desired as this one skill set, we are yet to acquire.)
- The applicant will ensure they have the skill set for large and complex tree removals in varying conditions and have sound proven experience with external equipment such as (Cranes, excavators, Avant loaders and stump grinders.)
- A minimum of 3 years climbing experience across 2-3 different companies.
- A full Australian driver’s licence is required along with any Arborist type certifications and training; Level 3 certification or equivalent is highly desirable yet not compulsory.
- Any Proven mechanical background is a must as we like to have our main team members well rounded, (e.g. Welding, mechanical, heavy diesel mechanic or engineering certificates or qualifications are a must.)
- The successful applicant will need to be able to work as part of a team and independently and be kind, patient and nurturing to younger up and coming trainees and staff members so that Burnett Trees can continue to foster its healthy growth from internal staff members.
