Nursery Hand Silvan

Our annual bare root harvest begins soon and we are seeking a recent team member to join our Production team in a Nursery Hand role. This is an exciting time of the year to join our nursery as it offers a great introduction to the harvesting process of a large production nursery.

Some nursery or horticulture experience would be beneficial to get you started in this role however if you have a genuine interest in horticulture, enjoy working outdoors and are keen to learn, then we would like to hear from you.

It is essential that you enjoy working in a team environment and bring a safety-first approach. You are confident asking questions and seeking guidance, which will enable us to provide you training and coaching to help learn the nursery processes and procedures, and give you the opportunity to grow into this role.

Core responsibilities:

Bare root harvest duties such as processing and grading mechanically harvested trees, loading stock

Nursery duties year-round (that allow you to follow the life cycle of many tree varieties from propagation to harvest), including planting, watering, weeding and pruning

General nursery and labouring duties

Qualifications & experience

Experience in horticulture / production nursery preferred

Victorian Driver's Licence required

Skills & attributes

Valuable communication skills

Reliable and motivated

Able to follow instructions and work within the nurseries established processes and procedures

Interest in furthering industry knowledge and skills
