Job Post: Experienced NDIS Support Worker Position: Experienced NDIS Support Worker Location: Perth Metro, WA Employment Type: Casual / Part-time Organisation: Smiling People Smiling People is seeking an experienced, Australian-born, and reliable Support Worker to support an NDIS participant in the Perth metro area. The participant has requested a worker who is confident, mature, and able to work with minimal step-by-step guidance. This role would suit someone who has strong initiative, understands professional boundaries, and can provide calm, respectful, person-centred support. About the Role The successful worker will provide practical and emotional support to help the participant with daily living, community access, and building independence. The participant would benefit from someone who is patient, reliable, and confident supporting individuals with psychosocial disability and/or personality disorder. Key Responsibilities Support may include:
- Community access and social participation
- Domestic assistance and daily living support
- Emotional regulation support during stressful situations
- Encouraging positive routines and independence
- Supporting the participant to attend appointments or community activities
- Using calm communication and de-escalation skills when required
- Following the participant’s support plan and working professionally without needing constant direction
- Maintaining confidentiality, dignity, and respect at all times Essential Requirements Applicants must have:
- Previous experience as an NDIS Support Worker or similar role
- Experience supporting participants with psychosocial disability, mental health needs, or personality disorder
- Strong understanding of Australian communication style, community expectations, and local support services
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Excellent communication and professional boundaries
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current National Police Clearance
- Working With Children Check, if applicable
- Valid Australian Driver’s Licence
- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance
- First Aid and CPR certificate preferred Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is:

- Able to follow instructions without requiring ongoing supervision
- Respectful, non-judgemental, and participant-focused
- Reliable with good time management
