NNSWLHD Staff Specialist General Paediatrician (Temporary Part Time) – Tweed Valley Hospital Live and work in a place of great beauty, enjoy more flexibility and more opportunities. Employment Type: Temporary Part Time – 26 weeks (Aug 2026 – Jan 2027). Position Classification: Staff Specialist. Remuneration: $278,355 to $376,068 per annum full‑time equivalent. Hours Per Week: 32hrs. Requisition ID: REQ . Note: This vacancy is in part for parental leave relief and other department leave relief for an initial period of up to 26 weeks at 32hrs per week. Hours and period may change according to leave requirements, with a possibility of extension at same or reduced hours. Remuneration as a Senior Specialist will be considered and is subject to CE Approval. We welcome trainees who will attain Fellowship within the Clinical Year to apply and will be considered. About the role Tweed Valley Hospital is seeking a Specialist General Paediatrician to provide contemporary, comprehensive specialist General Paediatric services for optimal patient outcomes across Network Hospitals, including inpatient services, outpatient clinics, hospital‑in‑home care and consultancy where applicable. The successful candidate will also provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and deliver training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve protected, high‑quality clinical practice. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive specialist General Paediatric services across inpatient, outpatient, hospital‑in‑home and consultancy settings.
- Offer clinical leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Deliver teaching and educational activities for clinicians across multiple disciplines. Qualifications
- Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Paediatrician, and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Paediatrics and Neonatal Medicine at the role delineation of the service.
- Demonstrated clinical experience with Child and Adolescent medicine and children with complex care requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
- Valid unrestricted driver’s licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel and participate in an on‑call roster. Benefits
