McHugh Steel Pty Ltd requires 40 workers to carry out general labouring tasks in their Frame and Truss Assembly business, located in Bundaberg, QLD. These roles are to commence early July 2026 for a duration of 9 months and will be working across both the Manufacturing and Maintenance Teams. Key responsibilities in these roles will include (but are not limited to) the following:
- Assisting in the assembling of steel frames and trusses
- Operating factory machinery in line with WHS and operational procedures
- Picking and packing stock into boxes
- Daily housekeeping, maintenance, and cleaning of the production area
- Using basic hand tools throughout the assembly process
- Ensuring commitment and compliance to WH&S;
- Other tasks, as required The right person for these positions would possess the following:
- A good level of general fitness; applicants cannot be colour blind or vision impaired as the role requires employees to pick colours of coil required for the job.
- Must be reliable and motivated, with a positive attitude
- Be able to multi-task with attention to detail
- Be able to follow instructions, learn and apply new process quickly
- Capable of working both in a team environment and autonomously. Successful candidates will be employed in accordance with the Manufacturing and Associated Industries and Occupations Award 2020 and will be paid an hourly rate. Staff will work a minimum of 30 hours a week, generally Monday to Friday, between the hours of 6:00am and 6:00pm. Weekend work may occasionally be required.
