Moving Mountains Village has partnered with To the Moon and Back to expand our behaviour support services, and we are excited to welcome a new member to our growing team. This part-time role would start as a Behaviour Therapist, delivering behaviour interventions and then be supported to also provide Positive Behaviour Support. The role has the option to grow additional hours and offers the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children, young people, and their families while being part of a values-driven, supportive setting. We work closely with families, carers, allied health professionals, and community stakeholders to build sustainable strategies that reduce behaviours of concern and support children and young people to thrive. About the Role As a Behaviour Therapist you will work across home, school, and community settings to design and implement interventions to support children and work with caregivers, educators and other stakeholders to get the best outcomes possible across daily environments. When this role expands to include Positive Behaviour support, you will also work across these settings to design, implement, and review behaviour support plans (BSPs) and train implementers. Your focus will be on promoting positive behaviour change, skill development, and meaningful outcomes for children and their support networks. When commencing as a Behaviour Therapist (and across both roles), you will have the opportunity to:
- Gather information to create goals and intervention plans
- Deliver intervention to children to work towards their goals
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to support workers, family members, and other stakeholders on behaviour strategies
- Collect, analyse, and report data to inform decisions
- Collaborate with allied health, therapists, schools, and community services
- Attend case review meetings, supervision, and professional development
- Maintain accurate documentation
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and professional standards
- Travel to client homes, schools, or community settings (own vehicle required) The role will also include the following responsibilities when expanding into Positive Behaviour Support:
- Conduct behavioural assessments (e.g. functional behaviour assessments, ABC data, direct observations)
- Develop, implement, monitor, and revise behaviour support plans consistent with positive behaviour support (PBS) principles Essential Requirements
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) as a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner under NDIS.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Behaviour Analysis, Education, Social Work, Allied Health, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of behaviour support principles and intervention strategies.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
- A driver’s licence and access to a reliable car.
- Relevant clearances (Working With Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening, Police Check) or willingness to obtain. Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in a paediatric or NDIS behaviour support setting
- Prior experience designing and delivering behaviour support plans
- Certification or coursework in applied behaviour analysis, behaviour support, or similar
- Experience training or mentoring others (support workers, families)
- Experience working across multiple environments (home, school, community)
- Familiarity with NDIS guidelines, compliance, and reporting What We Offer
