Industry Officer - Youth Justice (Malmsbury)

About This Role Use your passion and skills to train young people in horticulture or hospitality inside a youth justice setting. Help them make positive changes and build a better future. Ongoing role earning up to $107,278 per year with a base salary of $81,496 plus 12% superannuation. As an Industry Officer At Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct, your passion and patience will help young people build work skills, routines and confidence in a safe custodial setting backed by strong team support. You Will
- Train and supervise young people in vocational training and work programs.
- Coach young people through daily routines, teamwork and positive behaviour.
- Role‑model respectful relationships and pro‑social behaviour.
- Maintain safety through searches, supervision and dynamic risk assessment. About You Whether your passion is for cooking or planter boxes, we’re looking for people with experience in horticulture or hospitality to grow Malmsbury as a centre for education, enabling young people to find meaningful work when they return to the community. You Should Have
- Relevant industry or trade experience, with strong safety knowledge.
- The ability to teach safe use of tools, machinery and equipment.
- Confidence using computer systems for records and reporting.
- A collaborative approach and respect for diverse backgrounds. You will complete a fully funded Certificate IV in Youth Justice as part of your training and need to hold a Working with Children Check and first aid qualification prior to starting.
