Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and motivated Takeaway Shop Cook to join our team. The role involves preparing and cooking takeaway food, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with the smooth operation of the kitchen. Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and business standards
- Operate kitchen equipment including fryers, grills, ovens, and food preparation machinery safely
- Prepare ingredients including washing, cutting, portioning, and storing food
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness, and workplace safety
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner
- Monitor stock levels and assist with stock rotation and storage
- Follow all workplace policies, procedures, and food safety regulations
- Assist with cleaning duties including kitchen equipment, benches, floors, and food preparation areas
- Work cooperatively with team members and supervisors
- Provide customer service assistance where required Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a takeaway, fast food, café, or restaurant environment is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic Requirements
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual handling tasks safely
- Compliance with workplace health and safety requirements
- Food Handling Certificate desirable but not mandatory Employment Conditions
