Medical Intern – Tasmanian State Service We are looking for qualified medical practitioners to join the Tasmanian State Service (TSS) as Medical Interns. The role supports both inpatient and outpatient care under supervision, contributing to improved health outcomes for the community. Salary and Benefits
- Base salary: $89,610 per annum
- 12% superannuation contribution
- Salary packaging available
- Fixed‑term, full‑time contract 76 hours per fortnight from 4 January 2027 to 8 January 2029
- After‑hours and weekend work required
- New 12‑month Agreement – enhanced perks for Levels 1–2 (effective 2 August 2025)
- Salary increase of 3% from 1 January 2026: Level 1 – $92,298; Level 2 – $98,133
- Boosted Continuing Professional Development Allowance from 1 July 2026: Level 1 – $1,093; Level 2 – $2,186 per annum
- Recruitment & Retention Allowance – $10,000 per annum for Levels 1–11 working in North or North West Tasmania, paid fortnightly Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day‑to‑day management of patient care for both inpatients and outpatients in partnership with healthcare teams.
- Participate in scheduled rotations, including rural service as required. Essential Qualifications
- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia and eligibility for an Intern position. Desirable Qualifications
- Current driver’s licence (required for Burnie, Latrobe and rural locations). Pre‑Employment Checks
- Criminal conviction checks – violence, sex‑related offences, serious drug offences, dishonesty.
- Identification verification.
