Position Details Department of Health – Hospitals & Primary Care – Hospitals Nth – Launceston General Hospital Applications must be submitted by Sunday 07 June 2026, 11:55 PM (AEST). Award / Classification Health and Human Services (Tasmanian State Service) Award, General Stream, Operational Health Officer, Level 1 Salary and Employment Type $57,130 – $62,486 pro rata per annum. 12% superannuation contribution on top of this amount. Additional living expenses up to $9,010 and meal entertainment of $2,650 per FBT year. Part‑time permanent shift worker (fully rotational): 28 hours per fortnight. - LGH Food Services provides meals to over 300 patients daily (breakfast, lunch, dinner) 365 days a year.
- Shift work with a combination of early morning starts, evening shifts, including a combination of weekdays and weekends. The Role Provide a high standard of Food Service to hospital patients, staff and patrons in accordance with Agency policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining a high standard of food preparation, production, service, plating, meal distribution, ware‑washing, and cleaning of the hospital service areas and in accordance with the relevant codes of practice.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.
- Responsible for cleaning and sanitising all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and walls as directed by relevant supervisors and in accordance with relevant guidelines.
