Location: Ashfield/Leichhardt, New South Wales Position Type: Cadet About the Role This role is ideal for a student undertaking studies or a recent graduate in Urban Planning or related studies, looking to build a strong foundation in local government planning. You’ll support the research, development and review of Council’s strategic plans and policies, including contributing to the preparation of the new Inner West Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plan (DCP). Working alongside experienced planners and under the guidance of the Manager, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in strategic planning, policy development and evidence‑based decision‑making, while developing your professional skills in a supportive, collaborative setting. This is a great opportunity to apply your studies to real‑world planning projects that make a tangible difference to local communities. Remuneration
- Student: Award Prescribed (up to $58,494.80)
- Graduate: $86,282.04
- $97,610.76 + 12% Superannuation Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Undertaking a Degree (Bachelor or Post‑Graduate) in Urban Planning or equivalent.
- Ability to think strategically with demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computer programs (spreadsheet, database, graphics, word processing).
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet project deadlines.
