Mechanical Engineering Technician (Welshpool)

Due to continued high customer demand, our Welshpool facility requires experienced, hands-on Mechanical Engineering Technicians to assist our CNC machinists to maximise efficiency, quality and safety. Key Duties:
- Assist with the manufacture, repair, testing and modification of mechanical components used in oil & gas, mining and industrial applications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and job requirements to support machining, fitting, assembly and inspection work.
- Conduct measurements, inspections and testing of machined components and mechanical assemblies to ensure they meet required tolerances, quality standards and customer specifications.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, record technical data and assist with maintenance, repairs, commissioning and continuous improvement of workshop equipment and processes. Minimum Requirements:
- Trade, Diploma, Advanced Diploma or equivalent practical mechanical engineering qualification, with strong hands-on workshop experience.
- Previous experience in a machine shop supporting Oil and Gas and Mining equipment or very similar heavy industrial environment.
- This is a practical, workshop-based technician role requiring hands-on mechanical, machining, inspection and problem-solving skills; it is not a graduate engineering or office-based design role. Bossong Engineering provides 17.5% Leave loading for 4 weeks per year Annual Leave, with additional Overtime regularly available. Bossong Engineering operates from a modern workshop, conveniently located in central Welshpool, Western Australia.
