Housing Operations Manager Location – Lismore with 50% office attendance required (in accordance with the DCJ Flexible Work Policy). Employment type – Ongoing Full time. Salary – Clerk Grade 11/12 $149,739 to $173,174 plus superannuation and leave loading. Join Homes NSW in a senior leadership role where you will lead high‑performing teams to deliver impactful housing services across the community. This is an opportunity to shape frontline service delivery, strengthen tenancy outcomes, and drive improvements in how we support people experiencing housing instability and homelessness. You will play a key role in leading service delivery across tenancy management, access to housing, and housing assistance pathways, ensuring vulnerable clients receive timely, effective and person‑centred support. What You’ll Do
- Lead the delivery of social housing services, including tenancy management, client service delivery, access to housing, and support coordination
- Drive sustainable tenancy outcomes, focusing on early intervention, tenancy sustainment and effective engagement with tenants
- Oversee Temporary Accommodation, housing applications, and private rental assistance pathways, ensuring consistent and equitable service delivery
- Lead complex operational and strategic initiatives that respond to emerging demand, changing client needs, and government priorities
- Manage resources, staffing, and budgets to deliver efficient, high‑quality services aligned to statewide priorities
- Provide clear, evidence‑based advice to senior executives on sensitive, complex and high‑risk matters, including Ministerial and stakeholder enquiries
- Build and maintain solid partnerships with internal teams, other districts, government agencies, and the community housing and homelessness sectors (including SHS providers)
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, supporting staff to deliver consistent, high‑quality services
- Coach and develop team members, strengthening capability across tenancy management, client engagement, and service delivery What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience leading frontline housing, human services, or community service teams in a complex operational environment
- Strong understanding of, or ability to quickly develop knowledge in, social housing tenancy management, housing assistance products, and homelessness service systems in NSW
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high workloads, while maintaining a focus on service quality and client outcomes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across government and the non‑government sector
- Experience in operational planning, workforce management, and financial oversight, with a strong focus on accountability and continuous improvement
- Demonstrated ability to lead through change, embed recent service models, and support teams through complex reform environments
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in housing, human services, or a related field What We Offer
