Salary: From $138,056.43
- $148,350.11/ year (pending experience) + Superannuation + Vehicle Allowance Duration: Permanent full-time Ready to lead where it truly matters? We’re seeking a strategic people leader to head Land Use and Building Investigation Services, inspiring teams to build safer, compliant, and vibrant communities. In this role, you’ll deliver solid regulatory outcomes to enhance safety and compliance, while leading a team across planning, building, and pool safety. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll drive people, performance, and purpose while fostering a proactive, community-focused team environment and make a real impact every day! Position Responsibilities Include:
- Strategic Leadership, shaping and delivering program objectives aligned with organisational priorities.
- People Leadership, developing and coaching a high-performing team.
- Stakeholder Engagement, building strong relationships and representing the organisation across industry, government, and community forums.
- Technical & Operational Oversight. leading investigation services across land use, planning, and building compliance.
- Communication, translatingcomplex information for diverse audiences and producing high-level reports and briefings. Key Indicators for success: You are an experienced leader with robust technical expertise in local government investigations, planning, or building compliance. You bring:
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation including Planning Act 2016, Building Act 1975, and Local Government Act 2009.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a regulatory or technical environment.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage complex issues and influence outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in investigations, enforcement, business management, or a related discipline are desirable.
- Successful completion of background checks, including a financial check.
