Trade Counter Customer Service Officer | Loganholme About the Company River Sands is a leading manufacturer of packaged mortars, coatings and sands for supply to Hardware, Plumbing and Landscape stores throughout Queensland and Australia. Established for over 50 years, the business operates two factories in Queensland and several warehouses in all Capital Cities around Australia. The Role We are seeking a hands-on customer service professional with warehouse and forklift experience to join our fast-paced trade environment in Loganholme. This diverse role combines customer service, sales support, forklift operation and warehouse duties, assisting professional flooring and wall contractors with a range of specialist coatings, renders, textures and tools. No two days are the same, with time split between the trade counter, warehouse and supporting our wider branch network. What You Will Do
- Customer Service: Welcome trade contractors and provide efficient, friendly face-to-face counter service.
- Sales & Advice: Assist customers with product selection and provide advice for driveway and exterior wall refurbishment projects.
- Order Processing: Process customer orders and prepare accurate invoices using our computer system.
- Warehouse & Logistics: Safely operate a forklift to load customer vehicles, receive deliveries and assist with stock movements.
- Inventory Management: Assist with stock control, stock organisation and general warehouse housekeeping.
- Network Support: Provide support to our Geebung and Nerang stores when required to assist the wider team. What You Bring
- Previous experience working in a trade environment such as a paint shop, hardware store, building supplies business or construction supply yard.
- A valid Australian Driver's Licence and current High Risk Work Forklift (LF) Licence.
- The ability to comfortably lift and move products weighing up to 20kg.
- Confidence using computer systems for point-of-sale (POS) transactions, invoicing and order processing.
- A practical, reliable and customer-focused approach that connects well with trade customers.
- Willingness and ability to travel to alternative store locations when required. What We Offer
