Press Brake Operator (Meadowbrook)

**ABOUT US**: Cronos Steel Processing is a leading steel processing company dedicated to quality, safety, and efficiency. We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team, playing a key role in upholding our high standards in steel processing operations.

**MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Machine Operation**: Set up and operate CNC Press Brake machines to bend and shape steel components according to specifications. Support other areas as needed when work is unavailable in your primary area, with guidance from the team leader.
- **Material Handling**: Load and unload materials onto machines, ensuring correct alignment and positioning.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications, making necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy.
- **Machine Maintenance**: Perform routine maintenance on press brake machines, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate repairs with the team leader.
- **Safety Compliance**: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment. Report any safety concerns or incidents immediately.
- **Documentation**: Keep accurate records of production activities, including material usage, machine settings, and quality control measurements.
- **Housekeeping**: Maintain cleanliness of the work area, support offsiders as needed, ensure scrap metal is appropriately sized for bins, and return all tools to their designated locations.
- **Use Forklift**:Use forklift to move pallets with parts and equipment’s.
- **Use Crane**:Use overhead crane and Jib crane to handle heavy parts.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**: **Qualifications**:

- Relevant experience with CNC operation. Familiarity with Cybelec or Delem controllers is highly advantageous.
- Equivalent experience in a related field such as steel processing or a sheet metal workshop.

**Experience**:

- Prior experience in a similar role is mandatory, with relevant skills such as physical fitness, technical aptitude, attention to detail, and teamwork being significant.

**Competencies**:

- **Pressing Concepts**: Strong understanding of neutral plane, spring back, and the effects of pressing on parts.
- **Bump Folding & Trigonometry**: Expertise in calculating and performing bump folding processes, including trigonometry.
- **Workload Management**: Efficiently manage pressing workloads, optimizing operator availability.
- **Material Knowledge**:

- Expert in selecting appropriate vees based on material and thickness.
- Proficient with materials including Mild Steel, High Tensile Steel, Hardox, Aluminium, and Stainless Steel.
- **Regular Parts* Pressing**:

- Capable of independently pressing all regular parts.
- Skilled in advanced techniques such as W bend.
- Experienced in reworking and corrective pressing.
- Competent in operating horizontal presses.
- **Rolling Operations**: Proficient in rolling cylinders and cones up to 6mm thick.
- Regular Parts*
- Parts that are regularly pressed, with same shape, size, etc.

- $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
