Position: Welder/Boilermaker
Location: 2574 Blue Mountain Road, Blue Mountain QLD 4737

Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

About the Role:
Due to our current high workflow & new projects we are looking for welders and/or boilermakers with experience in the maintenance & repair of heavy mining machinery & equipment, are reliable & have a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities:
• studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring Instruments
• joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiseling and grinding
Qualifications:
• Trade qualified Boilermaker (Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
• Proven welding and fabrication experience (MIG, TIG, Stick)
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good understanding of WHS practices and procedures
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labour
