Teppanyaki Chef (Surfers Paradise)

About the role

Asami Tepppanyaki is seeking an experienced Teppanyaki Chef to join our dynamic culinary team in our restaurant located in the heart of Surfers Paradise, Queensland. Also seeking inexperienced Chefs who are prepared to undertake training to be a master at the grill. As one of our Teppanyaki Chefs, you will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests through your masterful preparation and presentation of authentic Japanese teppanyaki dishes. This is a full-time position. What you'll be doing 1. Prepare and cook a variety of teppanyaki dishes, including meats, seafood and vegetables, using expert culinary techniques 2. Engage with guests, showcasing your skills and flair as you prepare dishes on the teppanyaki grill 3. Ensure all dishes are presented to the highest standard, in accordance with Asami Tepppanyaki's quality and presentation guidelines 4. Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment in the kitchen 5. Assist with menu development and provide input on new recipe ideas 6. Mentor and train junior kitchen staff to uphold our high culinary standards What we're looking for 1. Minimum 2 years' experience as a Teppanyaki Chef or in a similar role in a high-quality Japanese or Asian restaurant 2. Extensive knowledge of Japanese cuisine, ingredients and cooking techniques 3. Excellent knife skills and dexterity for the preparation and presentation of teppanyaki dishes 4. Strong communication and customer service skills to engage with guests 5. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment 6.
