About Us

La Jordania Restaurant is a well-established dining venue in Surfers Paradise, specialising in Middle Eastern cuisine with an international influence. We are committed to delivering high-quality food and consistent service in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

All work will be conducted in a fully functioning, very clean and organised kitchen. Applicants must have the ability to work well under pressure and time constraints, with knowledge of different varieties of foods and ingredients, communication skills, and the ability to accept customer feedback to improve future experiences. Coordinate and plan menus with Chefs and other kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare, season and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes

· Ensure consistent food quality, portion control and presentation standards

· Check the quality of raw ingredients and maintain proper storage practices

· Operate and monitor cooking equipment including ovens and grills

· Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and work areas in compliance with food safety standards

· Assist in food preparation and kitchen operations during service periods

· Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control

· Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Qualifications and Skills

· AQF Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent, or

· At least 3 years of relevant work experience in a commercial kitchen

· Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Mediterranean and/or Middle Eastern cuisine

· Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations

· Ability to work efficiently in a quick-paced environment

· Strong work ethic and excellent communication skills
