Key Responsibilities
The role involves maintaining Rural Fire Service plant and equipment to ensure brigades are ready for emergency response. Responsibilities include inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repair work on light and heavy vehicles and other plant items, and maintaining accurate documentation.
Qualifications
Motor Vehicle Tradesperson Certificate
AIS Vehicle Inspectors Certificate
HR Licence
White card
High risk work licence (Forklift, confined spaces, working at heights)
Experience in fleet operations, preventative maintenance and repair work on light and heavy vehicles
Remuneration and Working Conditions
Permanent full‑time opportunity: 38 hours per week plus a rotational 4‑day work week
Base salary range: $69,600 to $93,974 pa, based on 38 hours per week, 12% superannuation, commuter vehicle use, $2,464 retention allowance, and adverse working conditions allowance
Standard work hours: 6:00 am – 4:00 pm
Work location: Port Stephens Council Works Depot, Raymond Terrace, NSW
