Gardener / Greenkeeper Maitland City Council has an exciting opportunity within our Recreation team for a skilled and reliable Gardener / Greenkeeper to help maintain and improve our City appearance. The Opportunity In this role, our Gardener / Greenkeepers provide expertise in gardening, turf maintenance, landscaping services, and help to maintain leisure, active and passive open spaces throughout the community. You will operate relevant plant and equipment, including mowers, tractors and whipper snippers to maintain the spaces, install and repair irrigation systems and undertake general gardening and greenkeeping duties. We seek an experienced and enthusiastic individual who demonstrates a strong focus on safety and eagerness to work within a supportive and growing team. About You To be successful, you will hold a Certificate III in Horticulture or related discipline and possess contemporary industry knowledge with demonstrated experience in general gardening, grounds and turf maintenance, and landscaping practices. You will be a productive and reliable team member, with a robust safety mindset, good interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering quality service to the community. Additionally, you must hold an MR licence. A HR driver's licence and traffic control tickets are highly regarded, but not essential. Benefits This is a full-time, permanent role working a 38‑hour week, with a base salary range of $63,127 to $70,071 per year based on demonstrated competencies plus allowances and 12% super.
