About The Project A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will be delivered at Belmont, Newcastle, NSW, to provide weather independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region. Seen as one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in Hunter region, the community is expecting a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant. It is also the first project in Hunter Water pursuing an IS Rating, as part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by . Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the construction process, including coordinating and directing workers, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
- Enforce safety regulations and building codes, and conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards or violations
- Manage and resolve conflicts between parties involved in the project
- Maintain accurate records of progress, costs, and quality control measures
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project expectations are met
- Identify and address any issues or problems that arise during the construction process
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and permits
- Manage the allocation of resources, including labour, materials, and equipment
- Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedure Qualifications
- Trade qualified
- You must have experiece in large scale Water Infrastructure projects above $100m
- Experience in piping, protection and process plant
- Desalination processing experience is a must
- Experience in HDPE welding (butt fusion and electrofusion), including QA/QC requirements.
- Experience supervising lifting operations, with sound understanding of crane selection, rigging practices, and lift planning.
- Supervisory experience on projects in excess of $100M
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
